EUROPAWEG
The Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge opened on July 29th, 2017. It is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world measuring 494 meters long and located between Grächen and Zermatt along the Europaweg. We are very proud to have helped support bridge construction as a part of trail maintenance in the area. Until this bridge was completed, hikers had to take a long detour to get around the valley because the former bridge was closed due to damage from falling rocks. The new bridge has been highly anticipated by prospective hikers of the Europaweg. The bridge will increase access to the Europaweg by making it easier to hike and increasing safety. And because it is the world's longest pedestrian suspension bridge, it is also attracting tourists to the area helping to revitalize the local economy.
GRINDELWALD TOURISMUS
The association Grindelwald Tourism aims to enhance the development and promotion of sustainable tourism in the interests of residents and guests of Grindelwald. It is responsible for the design, implementation and development of the tourist offer at local and regional level. The friendship between Grindelwald and Isamu Tatsuno started in 1969. The relationship grew strong through the years, Grindelwald is today proud to name Isamu Tatsuno as an Ambassador of Grindelwald since 2016.
Der Verein Grindelwald Tourismus bezweckt die Organisation, Entwicklung und Fﾃｶrderung eines nachhaltigen Tourismus im Interesse der Einwohner und Gﾃ､ste von Grindelwald. Er ist verantwortlich fﾃｼr die Gestaltung, Ausfﾃｼhrung und Weiterentwicklung des touristischen Angebotes auf lokaler und regionaler Ebene. Die Freundschaft zwischen Grindelwald und Isamu Tatsuno begann im Jahr 1969. Die Beziehung ist im Laufe der Jahre stark gewachsen, Grindelwald ist heute stolz, Isamu Tatsuno als Botschafter von Grindelwald seit 2016 zu nennen.
EIGER ULTRA TRAIL
The Eiger Ultra Trail is an ultra marathon that is held annually in Grindelwald since 2013. The race is composed of three trails set in the scenic foothills of the Eiger, the main trail a 101km long race with a cumulative gain of 6,700 meters. Montbell is proud to support this trial of endurance and alpine spirit.
